The Grand’s season cancelled through May 2020

Dear Friends:

It has been an extremely difficult decision, but with the latest news about the Coronavirus, it has become necessary for The Grand to cancel additional performances during this season.  As with previous cancellations, we will retain our usual policy of working with our patrons in terms of requesting a replacement ticket for the rescheduled performance, credit on a future ticket purchase, a tax-deductible donation to The Grand or a refund.

At this time, The Grand will not be presenting the rest of our 2019-2020 season, which includes the scheduled performances of: Yamato, Momix , The Rob Landes Trio, The Texas Tenors, The Beach Boys and The Temptations. In addition, our remaining Serious Fun performances as well as our annual Grand Kids Festival are cancelled.  We are hopeful that most if not all of our cancelled performances will be reinstated during our next season.  We currently have a Summer Season confirmed but will not announce it until we know it is possible to present those events.

All scheduled performances by outside organizations, including the Galveston Symphony and the many Dance Schools that utilize The Grand will also be cancelled.

We will continue to monitor the directives from the CDC and practice the utmost caution about public gatherings as well as cleaning recommendations for our theatre.   We will continue to offer updates on our programming via email, on our website and our social media channels.

We thank you for your continued support and patience as we all make our way through this pandemic. We look forward to a time as soon as possible when we can all enjoy a performance at The Grand and celebrate together.  remain committed to you, our patrons, to provide you with extraordinary talent in an exemplary, historic theatre -- The Grand 1894 Opera House.

With best wishes for our future together,
Maureen M. Patton
